The Mellowells
The Mellowells
A band rising out of the ground in Annville, PA that will really get your body thinking, The Mellowells, a band native to Lebanon Valley College, formed in the spring in 2013. Fun Fact: The Mellowells very first gig was opening up for Sammy Adams, the college rap icon, but got booed off the stage. The Mellowells consists of Jesse Barki (Vocals/Rhythm), John DiCocco (Lead Guitar), Caden Myers (Bass), and Cory Paternoster (Drums and Percussion), all hailing from different parts of PA and New York. The four played in various bands and solo projects before starting. The Mellowells all come from different musical backgrounds. John comes from more of a Blues/Jazz style, Caden comes from a Motown R&B style, Cory comes from an indie/alt rock and classic rock style, and Jesse comes from a New Wave Post Modern Rock style (whatever that means). However, all four members were able to use their drastically different backgrounds to create a cohesive sound. Shortly after joining forces, the band began working on their self produced "...Of Modern Thought" EP, which was recorded within 4 days. The band is currently working on a full length album, one where they are taking their time to produce the best possible result. The Mellowells do not do hair flips, posi kicks, crab walks, slam dancing, fist pumping, or twerking. But what do they do you ask? The Mellowells rock and/or roll like almost every day and try their hardest to create the best music they possibly can.
The Ok-Ok's
The Ok-Ok's
The Ok-Ok’s are an indie rock band hailing from humble York, PA, featuring vocalist Sadie Swartz, guitarist Isaac Swartz, drummer Chris Ridolfi, and bassist Andrew Sterner. The band’s original music explores various styles ranging from blues to punk, while still maintaining a signature sound, featuring catchy guitar riffs, ear-busting Bonham-style drums, and driving bass lines, topped off with a powerful, soulful female vocal.

Since its creation in 2013, the band has been making waves and catching reviewers’ ears. The Underground Lounge’s interviewer wrote, “The Ok-Ok’s are primed to be at the forefront of the next wave of great music,” and, “This is the youngest band we’ve sat down with [as a podcast feature artist]. They bring forth the energy of bands ten years their senior." Fly Magazine’s headline for its feature article on the band proclaims, “York’s The Ok-Ok’s are the New Class of Indie Rock” (The Fly Magazine, Dec. 2014).

The Ok-Ok’s are passionate about their live performances and the unique qualities of each musician that combine to create a dynamic experience. They focus on being genuine and enthusiastic in their delivery, rather than rehash overused antics. “They are one of the best bands in the area,” according to Josh Beck, manager of The Stage at New Grounds, where the band has been welcomed to play on many occasions.

This band takes every opportunity to play along the way, and puts heart into every performance, whether they are close to home in central Pennsylvania, or branching out into other areas like Baltimore, Philadelphia, and anywhere they are lead. In addition to traditional venues, the band performs in all kinds of places, including private parties, taverns, breweries, street fairs, and charity events. The Ok-Ok’s make new friends at every show, and the number of people who follow them continues to grow.

Currently, the band is booking shows for the year and is finished there debut album available for purchase on there website!
