On September 11, 2012, John released the album "A Naked Twist In My Story" which peaked at #58 on the iTunes Top 200 Albums list as well as #19 on the top Alternative Albums list on iTunes. The body of work (his first since parting with Glassnote Records) is a re-record of the album "A Twist In My Story" with each song recorded in a fresh light. All the tracks were done with acoustic / orchestral production, catering to the fans who fell in love with his first album, "Awake".
Secondhand's next album was funded entirely by his fans via Pledge Music. It will be a full band album and is expected to be completed later this year.
He began recording music in 2004 at the age of 16 and since then has gained popularity from his profiles on websites such as Purevolume and Myspace, on which he distributes some of his music and provides news and regular updates to his increasing fanbase on his progress. Goot also maintains one to one contact with his fans via such websites and loves to hear from those who appreciate his work.
His most recent work includes his debut album entitled ‘Arranged Noise’ released in 2008, a three track EP ‘Read My Mind’ released in 2009 and his latest release a covers album ‘Songs I Wish I Wrote’ in 2010.
The mystery doesn’t diminish the impact of the songs if anything, they’re more relatable because listeners can apply their own interpretation of the lyrics. "We as a unit have always encouraged Cullen to write from his heart – what do you know, what are you going through – and that will be the inspiration". As always, that soul-searching guided us to dark and light places but has allowed free range of creativity and our evolution.
