Southern Gentlemen - there couldn't be a better name to describe this pair of accomplished musicians. Roland, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and Griffin, hailing from New Orleans, met in the early 90s as each of their bands began to gain widespread success.

Roland has had continued success with Collective Soul on his own record label. And Griffin, still releasing music with Better Than Ezra, and had also found major success in the Pop and Country music worlds, most recently writing the #1 hit for Sugarland, "Stuck Like Glue". Together they are hitting the road to bring this acoustic performance to life.

The Southern Gentlemen Tour: Collective Soul's Ed Roland and Better Than Ezra's Kevin Griffin team up for an October/November acoustic tour

This fall, Ed Roland of Collective Soul and Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra will hit the road to delight fans as the Southern Gentlemen. The duo will make a dozen stops around the country, showcasing a different side of these artists: intimate acoustic performances that are a unique departure from the rock bands they made famous.

Southern Gentlemen - there couldn't be a better name to describe this pair of accomplished musicians. Roland, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and Griffin, hailing from the Louisiana city of New Orleans, met in the early 90s as each of their bands began to gain widespread success. At the time, Roland's band Collective Soul was topping charts with hit songs like "Shine" and "The World I Know". Griffin's group, Better Than Ezra had released its first album, Deluxe, which contained the hit songs "Good" and "In the Blood". In the years since, Roland and Griffin penned a myriad of chart-topping radio hits, sold millions of records, and toured around the world. Throughout everything, the friends never lost touch and stayed close to their hometown roots.

Almost 20 years later, the pair got together to perform a few acoustic shows for BMI, a major music performing rights society of which both artists are members. Roland had recently been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame and, in addition to his continued success with Collective Soul on his own record label, had founded a beloved annual charity concert at Atlanta's famous Eddie's Attic to serve his local community. Griffin had remained close to New Orleans, still releasing music with Better Than Ezra, and had also found major success in the Pop and Country music worlds, most recently writing the #1 hit for Sugarland, "Stuck Like Glue". The BMI shows were so well received that they soon had the idea to give the arrangement a name and take it on the road.

Both Roland and Griffin have had continued success, due to their immense talents and their gentlemanly rapport with fans all over the world. As the Southern Gentlemen, they plan to use their combined talents and charm to shed light on another side of their musical selves - just a couple of southern boys getting together to play some music and have a great time. Don't miss the party!

The Southern Gentlemen Tour kicks off on October 23 in New York City at the City Winery.
